Loeffel Steel Products, based in Barrington, Ill., has been a family owned and operated facility since it was founded in 1983.

Brothers Maurice F. Loeffel Jr. and Timothy K. Loeffel Sr. serve respectively as president and vice president of the company. Mary Jane Loeffel, wife of Maurice, serves as the company’s treasurer.

Loeffel Steel operates as a steel service distribution and processing center including toll-processing work. The focus of the company includes prime, pre-painted and coated products. Products are sold as-is, slit or sheeted to customer specifications. Loeffel’s main products are in coil or sheet format for their OEM customer accounts.

Currently, Loeffel operates three facilities with a total of 70 employees. The administrative offices are located in Barrington, Ill. The processing division is located in Riverdale, Ill. and the main warehousing facility is in Calumet Park, Ill. Loeffel Steel owns and operates a 48", 60" and 72" slitter , a 48" cut-to length line, and a 72" DBI multi-blanking rotary shear that is two-side surface critical.

In 1988, Maurice Loeffel also started the Loeffel Epilepsy Foundation. The Foundation was started to fund research toward finding a cure for epilepsy.

Loeffel Steel hosts an annual golf benefit for the Epilepsy Foundation which has raised over $500,000 in proceeds since its inception. This year, Loeffel also is running a "Scrap-A-Coil" drive that allows customers, vendors and anyone in the metals industry to donate product scrap or excess inventory as a donation toward the Foundation.
